Musicians of All Saints

January 15 @ 7:45 pm

£15.00
A long-lost piano concerto inspired by Beethoven receives its first performance on 15 January 2022 in Brighton by Adam Swayne and the Musicians of All Saints. Ferdinand Ries composed his Concerto in C major in 1806 shortly after finishing studies with Beethoven. Dr Adam Swayne, Deputy Head of Keyboard at the Royal Northern College of Music and long-time Brighton resident discovered the unpublished manuscript in the State Library of Berlin in 2004. He has transcribed the handwritten autograph especially for this performance. This original version has never been heard before.
The concert also includes a work by Lewes-based composer John Hawkins entitled ‘Another Orpheus’ for string orchestra alongside Haydn’s Symphony No.99 in E flat major.
