Congratulations to Chris Gander who has been selected to work on spnm's Bhangra Latina project.  Chris and three other composers are now working with a band led by spnm's Artistic Director Kuljit Bhamra and Latin jazz pianist Alex Wilson to devise works which will be toured this summer.

New officers appointed

The following were appointed to New Music Brighton's Management Committee for the year 2007/8:

New Music Brighton issues its first CD

new piano music from a Sussex shore

The first CD issued by New Music Brighton, titled new piano music from a Sussex shore, has been released. It contains 11 piano pieces by members of NMB plus one by Stephanie Cant, a former member now living in Durham, who performs the works.

Most of the works on the CD were specially written for Stephanie and first performed by her at a lunchtime concert in the Chapel Royal, Brighton in May 2001. This is an excellent introduction to NMB, offering a wide range of musical styles from a broad cross section of our membership.

The CD can be ordered by sending a cheque for £11 per CD (to include packing and postage to a UK address) made payable to New Music Brighton together with your full name and the address to which the CD is to be sent to New Music Brighton, 3 Islingword Street, Brighton BN2 9UR.
